DS3231 RTC Module – High Precision Real Time Clock with I2C Interface & AT24C32 EEPROM for Arduino, ESP32 & Raspberry Pi
The DS3231 RTC Module is a high-accuracy real-time clock module that provides precise timekeeping with minimal drift. It communicates over the I2C interface and is ideal for projects requiring accurate timestamps, such as data logging, alarms, and scheduling systems.
Unlike the older DS1307, the DS3231 includes an integrated temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) for better time accuracy, typically within ±2ppm. The module also includes an AT24C32 EEPROM chip with 32KB of storage for saving user data, sensor logs, or configuration settings.
Equipped with a CR2032 battery backup, the module continues to keep time even when the main system is powered off, ensuring reliable long-term time tracking.
Key Features:
- High-precision DS3231 RTC IC with built-in crystal and temperature compensation
- Integrated AT24C32 32KB EEPROM
- I2C interface (SDA/SCL) – easy integration with Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, STM32, etc.
- Tracks seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, year with leap year compensation
- Backup battery support (CR2032) for uninterrupted timekeeping
- Operating voltage: 3.3V – 5V
- Onboard pull-up resistors and solder pads for configuration
